Laborer-Leaching in Morenci, Az

Southwest Irrigation, LLC is currently seeking qualified individuals for their position of Laborer – Leaching.  Successful candidates will have the ability to work outdoors on uneven terrain, in all seasons.  This is not seasonal work. Our company puts a very high standard on safety, and has a zero tolerance for drugs.


This entry-level position supports operations in the installation and maintenance of the leaching lines. Employees work in environments where the primary objective is safe production.  There are many work activities taking place at one time and work tasks change many times during a work shift.

  • Responsible for installation and maintenance of leaching lines
  • Operation of processing/mobile equipment
  • Material lifting/handling loading
  • Operation of hand power tools
  • Equipment inspection and maintenance
  • Other tasks as assigned


  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED


  • Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toes boots, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toed boots, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment.
  • Employee will be required to work in environments where there is heat, cold, noise and dust while using appropriate personal protective equipment. 
  • Work occurs outside in multiple locations, on rocky and uneven terrain.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, and demonstrate manual dexterity.
  • Occasionally may be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on uneven surfaces.
  • May be required to work 12 hour shifts 7 days a week.  Operation runs 365 days per year.

Accounts Payable Specialist

Salary Range:  $18.00 hr – $25.00 hr

Requirements:  High School Diploma and minimum 3 to 5 years relevant work experience.

Workday:  Full time/ 8 hours per day


  • Duties assigned to this position:

    • Compute earnings of workers by referring to their annual salary or timesheet to discover hours worked.
    • Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records.
    • Assist HR, supervisors and employees with any documentation.
    • Responsible for maintaining, updating, and organizing the Company’s records, including electronic scanning and archiving.
    • Track and enter data per job site (attendance, men hours) in order to complete Manpower report to submit to Freeport daily along with the Headcount report.
    • Responsible for MSHA recordkeeping and maintaining current records electronic scanning and archiving online.
    • Sets up interviews for positions at the Morenci Mine and arranges orientation and MSHA training and occasionally attends and assists with orientation in Morenci.
    • Complete DES requests and completes Verification of Employment.
    • Completes Unemployment claims.
    • Other duties/ special projects as necessities arise.

    Prerequisites to qualify for this position:

    • Associates degree in Business/Accounting or certificate in Payroll/Human Resource area in business preferred.
    • Must have good attendance and time management skills and be very dependable.
    • Excellent computer skills, including proficient knowledge in Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Must be proficient with QuickBooks Pro or QuickBooks Enterprise.
    • Must be detail oriented to avoid making errors and be able to recognize errors made prior to payroll submission.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Knowledge and understanding of MSHA preferred.
    • Must be able to attend training and workshops to keep current with HR laws and improve skills to assist with daily office procedures.

    • Strong aptitude for numbers and ability to maintain an above-average level of accuracy.
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of company and client records and information.
    • Ability to establish and maintain positive, professional and effective working relationships as necessitated by working assignments.
